Fort Collins Five-Part Harmony
The Robert Wilson Blues Band is a five-piece out of Fort Collins built around something you don't hear often in a blues band: five-part harmonies. Robert Wilson leads on harmonica and vocals, backed by piano, guitar, bass, and drums. The members claim roots stretching from Pittsburgh to Kansas City to California, and over a century of combined time on stages.
Five instruments. Five voices. Originals, deep cuts, and the kind of blues you won't hear anywhere else on the lineup.
Their repertoire leans toward originals and obscure blues, the songs that fell through the cracks of the standard setlist. They mix in jump swing, jazz, rock blues, and R&B. If the headliners play the hits everyone knows, the Robert Wilson Blues Band plays the songs everyone should know.
They are affiliated with the High Plains Blues Society and have been a regular presence on Northern Colorado stages, including 2454 West in Greeley and festivals across the Front Range.
They open the Colorado Busker Stage at 1:15 PM Saturday. Get there early.
Saturday, June 6 at Island Grove Regional Park. Gates open at 11 AM.
